This month at KREIA we want to help you take stock, refine your plan, and set goals for reaching financial freedom. Whether you’re new to real estate or have been around the block a few times, We're still virtual this month. Come join our Zoom call! It's free for active KREIA members!

Erik Hitzelberger: REI Basics

Erik HitzelbergerA systems-driven rehabber and landlord, Erik Hitzelberger will kick things off with a discussion of why real estate makes sense for wealth building. Erik is going to help you figure out where you are on your individual road map to wealth and evaluate the strategies that can get you there.

Holding rental property is vital to achieving real wealth, we all know, but what roles do wholesaling and rehabbing play? How passive or active a real estate investor do you want to be? How much wealth do you need or want? Figuring out these things will help you define your goals, and Erik will offer insight.

Mike FallotMike Fallot: Getting Started

As a local lender who funds rehabbers on their house flip deals – and their rehab-and-refi-into-rentals deals (the popular BRRRR method) – Mike Fallot knows a thing or two about real estate investing.

With his company MM Lending, Mike has helped longtime investors rehab dozens of houses, and he’s helped new investors conquer that first flip. If you’re wondering how to arrange funding for your real estate endeavors, you’ll want to pay close attention during his segment.

Harry Borders: Build Your Business

Harry BordersYou probably know Harry Borders as one of the most prolific closing attorneys in the area. He also helps new investors create entities best suited for real estate businesses. Should you work out of an LLC, an S-Corp, a C-Corp? Harry will fill you in.

Real estate is a team sport, and Harry will describe who you should have on your team. He’ll also cover some marketing basics.

The Panelists

Closing out the night will be a panel of relatively new investors who are making it happen. With their first steps into investing still fresh in their minds, they will tell us how they got into real estate and share tips they wish someone had told them when they were starting out. You'll hear from:

  • Jacob Michal: An up-and-coming wholesaler.
  • Cameron DeGeorge: A wholesaler we heard from last year, coming back to share some tips.
  • Jaqueline Smith: A rehabber with hands-on skills who also has some rentals.
  • Joanna Dennis: She has rentals and is an Airbnb superhost — and has rehabbing experience as well.

MEMBER ORIENTATION

Log on to the Zoom call by 5 p.m. to hear the new member orientation presentation by Jordan Pohn and Stacey Duvall. You'll hear about the many benefits KREIA brings to the table. Longtime members may learn about some of the benefits they're missing too!

EARLY MEETING

Log on to the Zoom call by 5:30 p.m. to hear from Rebecka Taasaas of America's Choice Security Service. She will have info on how to use security systems to protect your vacant houses while they're undergoing renovations — and also to protect your properties after you've placed tenants.
