Soak up more investing knowledge while enjoying a good meal at an area restaurant. Lunch & Learn host Duna Bolotte advises that you arrive by 11:30 a.m. so that you have plenty of time to get settled before the presentation starts.
This month's guest is attorney Harry Borders, from the law firm Borders & Borders. Harry will be educating us on the new FinCEN (Financial Crimes Enforcement Network) requirements, effective March 1st. The goal is to foil money-laundering schemes. The result for investors who buy residential real estate in entities (trusts, LLCs, etc.) using non-traditional financing (cash, etc.) is LOTS of new paperwork at closings. The penalties for noncompliance are severe. Fun times! Hit Harry up with your questions.
Please pre-register now if you plan to attend so that we can estimate attendance.
This Lunch & Learn event is free to attend, but you must pay for your own lunch. We're holding it at an East End restaurant — the location will be revealed when you register. Click on the location to see the venue's website, where you can check out the menu!
