L.O.T.S. ...or Learn on The Site

The Kentuckiana Real Estate Investors Association Board, under the watchful eye of Dick Vreeland, created and sponsored the Learn on the Site or L.O.T.S. Program. Created in the 90's, L.O.T.S goal and focus was to provide an educational opportunity for its members to better understand the process of home buying.   In that process, individuals will learn step by steps in a hands-on atmosphere tips, tricks and advise from other investors and the L.O.T.S. host.

Since it's conception, L.O.T.S has grown and drawn attention nationwide.  On the local and state level, L.O.T.S. has had in attendance governmental officials to see first hand the investment KREIA strives to make in its own community by providing quality affordable housing.  Nationally, the L.O.T.S program has been recognized by National Real Estate Investors Association, and is a recipient of National REIA's Award of Excellence in Education in 2008 at their Mid year Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida.

The location of the L.O.T.S. program changes every month, and is listed on the Website, Newsletter or announced at the monthly meeting. 

HOW CAN  I ATTEND?

On the Tuesday following the monthly meeting (held on the fourth Thursday of the Month), the L.O.T.S program takes place at a project site that is in the middle of a major or minor renovation.  The project could be in any stage of work, so you get the opportunity to see various stages of projects.  A perfect opportunity for the new investor who is looking to get their feet wet and learn the ins and outs of investing, rehabbing all the way down the line. For the more seasoned investor, L.O.T.S. offers networking opportunities to find potential deals, contractors and cost saving suppliers.

This exceptional educational experience is held at noon on the Tuesday following the months montly meeting. Lunch is provided to those who attend, so come on down grab some lunch, network with investors who are out working in the community and LEARN ON THE SITE!

HOW CAN MY PROPERTY BE CONSIDERED FOR L.O.T.S.?

We are always looking for new and interesting properties to use for the L.O.T.S program. You must have the following in place in order to be considered:

- Must have working Water, Gas, Electric and  Restroom Facility

- Space available to host lunch

- Detailed Information on property being presented to educate attendees on process that include:

           a.)Prior Pictures or list of intention for rehab

           b.)Purchase price

           c.)asking price

           d.) Final Goal of Project Conversion

This opportunity gives the host excellent exposure, and heck of alot of bragging rights!  No property can be featured more than once, but owners are more than welcome to host L.O.T.S at thier  difference project sites through out the year.
