In Between Airbnb & Traditional Rentals...

Mid-Term Rentals... is the Mid-Term Rental: More stability and less red tape than with STRs (short-term rentals like Airbnb and VRBO) and more cash flow than with long-term, traditional rentals. Want to hear how to profit from the extended-stay model and place executives and traveling nurses in your houses? Register now for KREIA's March 28 main meeting!

We've invited a panel of four local mid-term rental experts who are profiting in this niche. Learn from Angie Chambers, Angie Tonini-Rogers, Renee Buster and Wendy Kays! Find out what's working for them. How they finance, furnish, and manage their rentals.

They're going to cover:

  • Pros/cons of mid-term rentals vs. short-term and long-term rentals
  • How to use Furnished Finders to find travel nurses, screen tenants, and set up payment
  • How to recruit from corporations
  • Things to consider when purchasing a mid-term rental property: size, location, security, parking, pets, and more
  • Passive vs. active income
  • And more!

Please be in your seat by 7 p.m. on Thursday and have your questions ready!

Q&A With Ed Gibson: Longtime Investor Pays It Forward

Ed Gibson"KREIA is the only organization I know of – and I've been around the world eight times – and I have never, in my life, seen a group of people work so hard to try to make you a millionaire. I’m not kidding you."

Ed Gibson was speaking from experience here, and he believes in paying it forward!

Ed is a longtime KREIA member, a past board member, a past Lunch & Learn host, and a patent-holding engineer. He’s married and has four children and six grandchildren.

He is also one of KREIA's biggest cheerleaders, and he credits his investing success to our group. He’s not a typical real estate investor – he divides his energies between the stock market and real estate, and he makes a great case for why he doesn't like to put all his eggs in one basket.

His take on the synergy of two-prong investing is fascinating, and we sat down with him a couple of months ago to pick his brain – coming away with thousands of words of pure gold.

There wasn't room to fit the full interview in print and, trust us, you’ll want to read the whole thing. In the full transcript Ed talks about how he rehabs houses, he shares his investing strategy, gives specific recommendations, gives shoutouts to his many mentors, and offers solid advice.

If you're an active KREIA member currently logged into your account, you can read the full interview here.

Louisville Deputy Mayor Pat Mulloy Addresses KREIA

Pat Mulloy, Louisville's Deputy Mayor for Economic Development, addressed real estate investors at KREIA's Sept. 28, 2023, main meeting. He described Mayor Greenberg's "My Louisville Home plan," which is designed to add 15,000 affordable housing units to the city.

Investors, are you ready to help meet the challenge?

Help the Children: Help the Home of the Innocents

The Home of the Innocents is a Louisville organization that takes care of abused, neglected, and medically fragile children. Even though we presented our annual check to the Home at our Holiday Party, the need for our assistance continues. Please make a much-needed gift to the Home through our fundraising page. (It's tax-deductible for you!) Or by purchasing something the children need that's mentioned on their Wish List.
